SUMMARY OF JOB The Health Information Management Technician is responsible for ensuring daily HIM workflow operations necessary for outcomes and compliance are evaluated and provides support to those areas for which a gap occurs due to vacancy or volume. The successful candidate must have exceptional computer skills, strong written and communication skills along with overall organizational skills. The ability to assess workflows, critical thinking skills, planning, quality controls and project management. Knowledge of the EMR (clinical and financial) system and the HIM department Legal Medical Record. Knowledge of PA DOH rules and regs as well as the organizations accreditation body; DNV. Release of Information; HIPAA knowledge.
