RN

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

 

Clinical Supervisor

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct patient care and supervises the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24 hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population

 

Nurse Practitioner
Performs history and physical examinations and carries out appropriate intervention/procedures as determined by the plan of care. Coordinates care of assigned patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care.

 

Physician Assistant
Performs history and physical examinations and carries out appropriate intervention/procedures as determined by the plan of care. Coordinates care of assigned patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care.

 

Paramedic
Assists medical, nursing and respiratory staff with the care and treatment of Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care and Emergency Department pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

 

 

 

 

RN REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).  Other requirements such as RN attributes & certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit.

CLINICAL SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Three (3) years’ experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty OR Bachelor’s in Nursing with Two (2) years’ experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.

NURSE PRACTITIONER REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s Degree in Nursing Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current licensure as a Registered Advanced Practice in the State of Georgia.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. Successful completion (Received PA Diploma) of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program. Current certification by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current ACLS/BCLS certification.

 

PARAMEDIC REQUIREMENTS:

 

Graduate of an accredited Paramedic Program. Current Paramedic License in the state of Georgia. Basic Life Support Required ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required PALS required
