**Histologist** Laboratory Boston, MA, US Pay Rate Low: 35 | Pay Rate High: 39 + Added - 10/01/2025 Apply for Job **Position Title:** Scientist – Histology and Immunohistochemistry **Location:** Boston, MA (Onsite) **Duration:** 1-year assignment with the possibility of extension **Qualifications:** + **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in histology or a related field. + **Expertise:** + Strong proficiency in immunohistochemistry (IHC) and general histology techniques. + Skilled in processing, embedding, and sectioning formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues. + Experience in frozen OCT-embedded tissue sectioning is a plus. + **Additional Skills:** + Familiarity with in situ hybridization (ISH), immunofluorescence (IF), and RNAscope assays. + Experience with automated staining platforms (e.g., Leica Bond, Ventana). + Basic knowledge of microscopy, image analysis tools (e.g., HALO, ImageJ), and whole slide imaging. + Proficiency in data analysis, including statistical concepts and graphing. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus. + Interest or background in oncology, immuno-oncology, or immunology. **Responsibilities:** + Design, validate, and execute IHC and histology experiments using human and mouse tissues to support cancer therapy development. + Perform tissue processing and staining using both manual techniques and automated systems. + Use digital pathology tools (e.g., HALO Link, HALO AI) for image management and quantitative analysis. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to present experimental findings and contribute to project goals. + Manage timelines and execute tissue-based assays with precision to meet deadlines. + Maintain accurate and detailed records in an electronic lab notebook (ELN). **Preferred Experience:** + Knowledge of mouse tissue handling protocols (trimming and embedding; no live animal work required). + Familiarity with quantitative image analysis tools (e.g., Indica Labs HALO, QuPath). + Basic understanding of data visualization and statistical methods.
