Histologist - Responsibilities:

Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide, including special stains and techniques.Performs specialized procedures.Researches new techniques and instrumentation.Assists lab manager with daily responsibilities.Assigns staff to meet work assignments.Assists in maintaining and revising policies and procedures.Maintains files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards.Cleans and maintains equipment and instruments.Orders, stocks and maintains supplies.Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: HS Graduate or Equivalent GEDNonessential: Technical Program Completion or Degree

Credentials:

Essential: ASCP Certified HistotechnicianNonessential: ASCP Certified Technologist in Chemistry

Credential equivalent experience:
