The assistant works under general supervision of trained Histology techs and/or Cytology techs. **Essential Job Functions** Performs multiple computer functions using the laboratory information system. Performs secretarial and clerical duties (e.g., answering phones, assisting clients and patients, etc.) Assists pathology, histology, and/or cytology staff. Performs special procedures. Prepares specimens, slides, blocks, reports, patient information, and other pertinent materials for mailing to referral sites or pickup by patients, family members, or physicians' office personnel.
