Job Description:

MaineGeneral Health is inviting dedicated individuals to join our Histology team as a Lab Assistant. As a CAP-accredited, 24/7 lab responsible for over 1.3 million tests annually, we are committed to the well-being and growth of our employees. Role Details:

Role: Histology Lab AssistantSchedule: Monday-Friday, 6a-2:30p (No weekends or MaineGeneral observed holidays)

Responsibilities:

Accessioning of cytology specimensAccessioning of surgical specimensAssist Pathology staff with daily dutiesEquipment maintenanceFiling/retrieving slides and FFPE blocks from the archiveHazardous waste disposalPrepping gross benchesProcessing of pap smearsReagent managementRestocking suppliesSlide distribution to Pathologists and CytologistsTissue disposal

Qualifications:

Experience: While prior experience is preferred, we are open to considering candidates with limited to no experience. New graduates or those with evolving skills are encouraged to apply.Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrate a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.Lab experience and/or specimen processing experience is desired, but we may be willing to provide training for motivated individuals.
