Be part of what truly makes us special and impactful. **The Opportunity** We are currently seeking a dedicated Strategic Innovation Advisor I to participate in Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Fellowship Cohort 25-2 with USAA. The HOH Fellowship Program builds an extraordinary experience for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses that increase competitiveness and improve opportunities to find meaningful employment by providing development, skills, and exposure to corporate working environment and private sector business operations. HOH Fellowship Programs are best-in-class workforce development programs that are cohort based and twelve weeks in duration. As a participant in the Military Fellowship Program, we understand that in most cases Fellows are ending their active service commitments and actively relocating. Therefore, while participating in the Fellowship program, Fellows are authorized to work remotely. If selected for full time employment this position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. This high-impact role demands a creative and detail-oriented approach, and may include early-stage research, ideation, design, incubation, prototyping, and piloting of new concepts. You'll develop robust business cases and partner with CoSA leadership to champion innovation efforts. This exciting opportunity offers: + Shape the future: Directly influence USAA's strategic direction through the development and implementation of innovative solutions. + Tackle complex challenges: Push the boundaries of what's possible by solving intricate problems and experimenting with cutting-edge technologies. + Collaborate across functions: Partner with diverse teams across the organization to bring innovative ideas to fruition. + High impact, high visibility: Your work will significantly contribute to USAA's future success and be highly visible within the organization. + Unleash your creativity: You will have the autonomy to explore new ideas and develop creative solutions to complex business challenges. **What you'll do:** + Actively participates with team to support the alignment of innovation efforts to appropriate focus areas. + Collaborates with team members to identify strategic business opportunities and exercises a disciplined thought process to evaluate the problem statement and possible solutions. + Provides recommendations to leadership to determine and launch the incubation approach through experiments to test assumed business value for new opportunities (technology, channel, etc.) which includes coordination with internal business partners and securing funding. + Assesses feasibility and viability by evaluating whether the concept is technically and legally possible, and within realm of affordability. + Tests for market need and interest. + Develops business case and route by consolidating results from feasibility and viability step and creates final deliverable for Strategy partners to determine whether to proceed with the concept. + Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. **What you have:** + Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. + 4 years of experience in a business and/or staff function such as property and casualty, banking, or financial services that includes 2 years of experience leading and launching innovative solutions, leading wide-ranging, diverse, and matrixed functional roles, managing IT backlogs and releases, and/or executing effective solutions against a problem set. + Demonstrated problem solving abilities, experience with human centered design practices, agile, or a lean start-up project approach + Ability to take a conceptual idea and develop into a viable product. + Detail oriented with a strong ability to manage and executive multiple competing projects. + Moderately advanced level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends. + Current participant in the Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship Program Co-Hort: 25-2. **What sets you apart:** + Impactful Work: Directly contribute to USAA's strategic growth and future by shaping innovative solutions. + Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with the latest technologies and explore emerging trends within the financial services industry. + Creative Freedom: Enjoy significant autonomy to develop and implement creative solutions to complex challenges. + High Visibility: Make a significant and visible contribution to the organization, influencing strategic direction. + Collaborative Environment: Work with a team of talented and passionate professionals across various departments. **Compensation range** : Hiring Our Heroes Fellows are paid by the HOH program. If selected for a full-time role, the salary range for this position is: $85,040-$162,550.
