ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing daily and direct oversight and monitoring of their assigned ISFSI Security Associate.  ISFSI Security Shift Supervisors are accountable for the performance of their assigned ISFSI Security Associates and provide direct supervision, performance management, and implementation of the MARC process for their assigned ISFSI Security Associates.  ISFSI Security Shift Supervisor also are responsible for providing physical protection of the ISFSI and public against radiological sabotage, through compliance with all NRC security requirements as described in applicable Codes of Federal Regulations (10 CFR 73) and other relevant commitments (Physical Security Plan, Safeguards Contingency Plan, and Training and Qualification Plan), business policies, procedures, and standards.  This is accomplished by the following:Performs duties of Emergency Director for Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Only Emergency Plan (IOEP).Operations of the Physical Security Computer System and associated technologies to assess alarms and direct security force response.Verify security personnel are qualified in their assigned crucial tasks prior to being given a shift assignment.Verifying security equipment is tested and declared operable prior to use.Dispatches security personnel to assist other site organizations to provide security support as described in established procedures.Operate or supervise the operation of ISFSI equipment and controls important to safety including ISFSI storage casks, Transfer Cask Basket, and handling activities.Determine ISFSI reportability and operability.Responsible for investigating, responding to, and otherwise handling or addressing grievances, and as any grievances proceed through later or higher steps, making recommendations on whether or how they should be granted, denied, resolved, or otherwise adjusted.  Responsible for conducting fact findings, human performance error reviews, and administering and/or making recommendations on disciplinary action as situations arise.Work varying shifts to cover a 24-hour/seven-day a week operation including mandatory overtime.Responsible for providing physical protection of the ISFSI and public.Maintain periodic qualification of academic requirements including Radiation protection, Access authorization, Emergency plan, etc. Maintain periodic qualification of armed response, physical fitness and weapon requirements as required by ISFSI assignment.Adhere to regulatory fatigue orders and work hours tracking requirements relative to ISFSI.Creating and reviewing daily shift paperwork; conducting daily shift briefs with ISFSI Security Associates; Ensure that industrial safety is a priority; performing weapon issuance and accountability as applicable; ensuring daily, weekly and operational testing of equipment is completed; ensuring staffing levels are maintained at all times, performing technical reviews of Security procedures, policies and post order revisions; Assuming role of Security Operations Supervisor as designated, during off hours.Report and coordinate the repair of degraded conditions of security posts and equipment; Initial determination of reportability for security events and conditions.Ensure house-keeping expectations are met.Maintain all required qualifications for site access.All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The ISFSI Security Shift Supervisor, in addition to having the appropriate technical and tactical mindset, must be able to instill public and regulatory confidence in this role, and maintain necessary skills and qualifications.High school diploma or equivalentDesired:  B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Engineering or other discipline generally associated with plant operations or equivalent work experience.Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.Must be able to obtain initial and maintain annual weapons qualifications.Must be able to obtain and maintain License to Carry (LTC).If previously employed, meaningful and verifiable work history.
