Rising Ground is a human services organization that supports individuals and families in New York City and lower Westchester County by providing the resources and skills needed to help them positively direct their lives. Founded as an orphanage in 1831, Rising Ground provides therapeutic treatments and trauma-informed supports that meet the physical, mental health, psychological, and educational needs of youth and adults facing a myriad of complex challenges.

SUMMARY:

To certify/approve all assigned regular and kinship homes within the prescribed time frame (3/4 months).  Must also be able to complete foster home re-certifications as assigned.

 

Responsibilities Make in-home consultation visits to prospective foster homes. Evaluate existing foster homes for recertification.Process intake of kinship referrals for the completion of expedited home studiesObtain all required materials/documentation to complete home studies.Complete Home Studies and submit via CONNECTIONS for review and approval within prescribed time frame.Maintain and update foster parents’ soft files.Attend mandated home finding unit meetings and All staff meetings.Perform all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree plus related experienceDemonstrate responsiveness and ability to work with a culturally diverse population.MUST be able to do extensive traveling to all NYC boroughs, and outer boroughs.Strong interpersonal verbal and communication skills Able to work flexible hours evenings and weekends.Knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong writing skills.Certification in the MAPP/GPSII Process a plusSelf-starter – Independent workerBi-lingual a plus
