Home Health Aide/CNA
We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us!Part of a nation wide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Care, is seeking a Home Health Aide. The home health aide is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. The home health aide is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.

This position would be supporting the Kane/DuPage Counties

In this role, the Home Health Aide will:

Provide personal care to patients.Plan and prepare nutritious meals.Assist in feeding the patient, if necessary.Take and record oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).Assist patient in the self-administration of medication.Doing patient’s laundry, as appropriate.Meet safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properlyReport on patient’s condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.Adhere to the Organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.Additional work may be assigned in office to assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, preparing patient admission folders, and other tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

Meets the training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws.At least 18 years of age.Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English with clients and staff.Dependable and self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision. Organizes schedule of duties in order to complete each day’s responsibilities within allocated timeframes.Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.Considerate of the clients’ comfort, safety, security and personal belongings.Demonstrate good judgement and initiative based on standard policy and procedures, notifying supervisor and case manager of client condition changes or concerns.Possess and maintains current CPR certification.Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.License driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Organization requirements and is in good working order.
