Duration: 31 Dec 2027 – Extendable (36 Months)
Working Schedule: Work hours per day: 12 hrs./day Workdays per Week: 7 days/week Rotation: 28/28 Work Location/Assignment Type: Qatar (90% Offshore, 10% Onshore)
Job Purpose Reporting to Hook-up Lead, the Hook-up Superintendent handles coordinating the Offshore Hook-up activities for Topsides & STPs to ensure objectives are met within the approved scope and schedule, and to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards applicable
Key Responsibilities - (Duties include but not limited to): Lead Onsite Operations:
Act as the main point of contact onsite, driving safety leadership and ensuring all hook-up activities are carried out according to plan. Support the Hook-up Lead in coordinating project responsibilities. Coordinate Marine and Hook-Up Operations:
Oversee marine spread operations, lifting, and installation tasks. Manage the hook-up team to ensure all work aligns with the project’s approved scope and schedule. Ensure Quality & Safety Compliance:
Review and approve contractor documents, work packs, job cards, and schedules. Provide technical advice on quality, safety, planning, and engineering to ensure all activities meet EPC contract requirements. Manage Risk & Change:
Implement and manage technical aspects of the Risk Management Plan. Review design changes and coordinate onshore/offshore specification revisions in line with the Project Management of Change (PMOC) processes. Oversee Marine Operations:
Coordinate the jack-up barge operations and manage interfaces with supporting vessels to ensure smooth execution of the hook-up campaign. Interface & Communication:
Work closely with internal project teams and external partners, including RLIC and other operators, to address issues and facilitate technical support when needed.
Minimum Requirements: Education & Certification: Preferred bachelor’s degree or relevant on-the-job experience. Required to have an offshore survival certificate and be able to pass an offshore medical evaluation. OPITO certification is considered a plus. Experience & Expertise: 10+ years of experience in the discipline, with at least 5 years in engineering, installation, and hook-up for major topside capital projects. Extensive offshore experience in a hook-up supervisory role. Experience working with EPC contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors in the oil and gas industry. Worldwide experience with contractors, particularly in offshore LNG production facilities. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working understanding of industry standards. Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of offshore lifting and marine unit operations, including jack-up barge and MWS interfaces. Excellent knowledge of hook-up operations and processes, including job card preparation, planning, pre-commissioning, commissioning, mobilisation and demobilisation of jack-up barges, execution of hook-up campaigns, and handover of completed scopes. Full knowledge of SIMOPS and the permitting system is a must. Soft Skills & Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on teamwork. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a Project Management Team (PMT).
