The Horticulturist reports to the Director of Agronomy and Director of Grounds and will occasionally supervise a small crew assisting in landscaping duties.

Job Summary (Essential Functions):
Maintains the landscaping around the clubhouse and other club facilities, including parking lots and pocket parks.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design is preferred. Experience designing and planting of landscape beds preferred. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations: Cooperate with and respect fellow employees. Presents a professional image at all times. Job Tasks/Duties: Plans and implements the yearly flower plantings and seasonal changes. Plants and maintains ornamental shrubs, trees, and flowers. Trims and feeds shrubs and trees. Work in tandem with supervisors for irrigation scheduling and programming. Basic operation of utility vehicles, hand-held blowers, and small equipment. Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position. Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling. Often required to get dirty and or work in dirty environments.
