ResponsibilitiesMJHS Hospice and Palliative Care is proud to announce the establishment of a new accredited fellowship training program: The MJHS Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. This robust training program will offer a unique training experience across the following diverse practice sites for over 1,200 hospice and palliative care patients:
inpatient consultation serviceinpatient hospice and palliative care units (IPU’s) and residencesambulatory palliative care long-term care community-based palliative carehome hospiceThe new training program will be embedded within MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care, the largest provider of community-based hospice and palliative care in the region, and as such, will be one of the only programs in the country to offer community-based training. The fellowship curriculum closely follows the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Care Competencies as outlined by the ACGME, with teaching from a highly qualified physician and interdisciplinary faculty, and with academic affiliations to Albert Einstein, Montefiore, and the MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care.
Qualifications Applicants must have completed an ACGME or American Osteopathic Association accredited residency in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, or Surgery. Applicants must have passed USMLE Step 3 or an equivalent examination that qualifies for medical licensure (i.e., COMLEX).Applicants must have, or obtain an unrestricted medical license in New York State.Applicants must have graduated from an accredited MD/DO medical school.
