Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Hospital Director, Patient Access - Long Island.

In this role, the successful candidate This role is responsible for assisting in the overall planning and organization of the Patient Access department, overseeing areas including the campus Emergency Department and Peri-Op Admitting. The role involves collaborating with the Health System Director on department policies and procedures, processes, fostering innovation, and maintaining accountability for projects.

Job Responsibilities:

DAILY OPERATIONS AND WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT

Ensures optimal customer service.Works effectively and communicates between Physicians, clinical and non-clinical teams as well as other departments and personnel.Ensures accurate dissemination of information to the Supervisors, Managers, and staff regarding process changes and protocols.Oversee and support departmental functions. Responsible for monitoring usage of supplies. Monitor staff attendance and performance of payroll.Assist in the creation and review of departmental policies and procedures.Participate in patient flow meetings to improve overall patient throughput across the institution.

LEADERSHIP AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Oversees the hiring and training of managers and supervisors, and assists with disciplinary actions, including terminations when necessary.Responsible for conducting annual employee performance evaluations and monitoring staff productivity and quality of work.Oversees leadership and staff performance, establishing performance standards by developing departmental goals aligned with the Hospital?s Mission Statement.Maintains managerial standards by coordinating activities and resources to achieve desired outcomes and making timely, data-driven decisions.Ensures department registration and admission QA is performed and maintains department schedules. Provides managerial and staff counseling as needed.Demonstrates strong customer service skills by ensuring staff adhere to service processes and assists patients and visitors by directing them to appropriate areas within the hospital.

BUDGET AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Responsible for monitoring the departmental budget, and for developing and recommending capital and operational budgets ensuring staffing TO does not exceed budgeted FTEs.Effectively control costs while monitoring usage of supplies.

COMPLIANCE AND REGULATORY STANDARDS

Oversee and execute the Quality Improvement Process.Lead committees that collaboratively review systems to ensure effective patient outcomes.Demonstrate and maintain compliance with departmental standards by attending all required meetings and ensure staff comply with in-services and competencies. Maintain Departmental Policy and Procedure.Optimize resource utilization and improve the accuracy of demographic and insurance data collection, ensuring a patient-friendly experience and financial reimbursement.

COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK

Communicates regularly with Administration, Finance, Medical Records, and other departments to review and improve revenue cycle performance.Meets with colleagues from other departments as needed to promote improvements in communication, teamwork, and admitting processes.Communicates issues, initiatives, and trends, and any problems requiring administrative intervention or review to the Health System Director of Patient Access.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Hospital Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years experience as manager or department head in health care environment.
Knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement issues affecting Patient Access.
Evidence of good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and inter-intra departmental conflict resolution skills required.
Ability to multi-task is imperative

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $92,710.43 - $154,517.38 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
