Description: Job Summary:
Management/Supervision: Manage Hospital Imaging Department operations in inpatient settings by: Performing all elements of supervision of staff, including but not limited to hiring and developing qualified staff, managing performance, applying Corrective Action, and terminating employment if necessary. Scheduling, or overseeing the scheduling of staff, in assigned location(s). Complying with Human Resources policies and procedures. Creating and supporting a professional environment where both individual achievements and team work is rewarded. Establishing employee performance expectations consistent with providing quality care and customer experiences. Resolving employee-initiated or interpersonal concerns. Negotiating satisfactory resolutions on complaints/grievances as appropriate. Creating operating budget from allocation provided and applying sound fiscal management practices and efficient utilization of Radiology resources and funds within designated budget authority. Work collaboratively with and seek guidance from Imaging Operations Director and Imaging Managers to ensure regional best practices, quality, consistency, staffing and financial soundness. Communicate and support organizational structure and philosophy. Provide timely information to staff. Comply with department specific policies and procedures. Promotes and supports LMP environment while working collaboratively with Imaging Modality Section Head (Permanente). Ensures quality of care by actively supporting quality analysis and improvement efforts in area of responsibility.
Workplace Safety: Train employees, investigate and report accidents. Inspect physical environment for possible hazards and assure complete resolution. Participate on facility Safety Committee and the Radiation Safety Committee as assigned/requested. Cultivate a blame-free environment for continuous improvement.
Imaging Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Assure equipment performance consistently meets standards for quality and safety. Communicate equipment issues, concerns and needs to Clinical Technology and Regional Imaging Leadership as appropriate.
Service Delivery Analysis and Planning: Evaluate Hospital Imaging service delivery and through appropriate collaboration/approval, design and implement changes necessary to assure effective coordination with other departments. Partnering with Imaging Operations Director and Imaging Managers to ensure regional strategic planning and local initiatives are consistent. Analyze space requirements, recommend changes, and provide operational oversight for remodel projects and equipment installation.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of Local, State, Federal, and Accrediting and licensing requirements and regulations pertaining to delivery of Hospital Imaging Services and Radiation Safety. Communicate requirements to all employees. Work collaboratively with other staff (e.g. Service Area Coordinators, Imaging Managers) to maintain Regional best practices, quality, and consistency. Represent Hospital Imaging Services during accreditation visits and agency inspections as needed/requested.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum two (2) years Management experience in a healthcare environment or Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in Medical Imaging (Team Lead and Imaging Quality & Compliance Coordinator may be considered in this requirement).
Education
Associates degree in Imaging related field or two (2) years of directly related experience. High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration

Behavioral Interviewing.
Experience with Labor Management Partnership activities.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of equipment operations.
Bachelors degree in radiological sciences, healthcare related field or business.

Under the direction and guidance of the Regional Imaging Senior Director, and Imaging Operations Director, ensures high quality, cost effective operation of Imaging Services. Working together with direct-report supervisors and staff; by planning, developing, managing, and guiding the operations; interfacing with physicians and support staff to provide our members with safe, effective clinical access, positive outcomes, affordability, employee satisfaction and excellent customer service.
