Hospital Operations Manager

The Virginia Veterinary Centers in Fredericksburg, VA is hiring a dedicated and passionate Hospital Operations Manager to join our outstanding team!Position Overview:
The Operations Manager has overall accountability for the operational and financial management of the hospital. The Operations Manager performs a wide range of difficult to complex administrative activities related to the hospital in providing quality patient care and excellent client service, management of finances and accounting, marketing, and promotion of services, staffing and human resources, and discretionary activities, that serve to support the hospital.

Essential Job Functions:Responsible for managing the operations and financial health of the hospital.Interfaces and collaborates with NVA Ethos Shared Services departments as needed to ensure that the hospital goals are met.Responsible for overseeing the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff.Responsible for overseeing the recruitment, interviewing, contract negotiation, and hiring doctors in conjunction with the Director of Hospital Operations.Responsible for working closely with the Director of Hospital Operations to establish the best medical care while keeping the positive financial health of the hospital.Monitor employee competence and effectiveness through feedback and observation as well as staff performance and salary reviews.Responsible for policy enforcement as well as overseeing disciplinary actions with HR guidance.Organize and conduct staff meetings. Meet regularly with Director of Hospital Operations to discuss, evaluate, and plan for the welfare of the practice. Attend corporate meetings when required.Organize and conduct staff training.  Provide regularly scheduled training for the clinical and client service team members.Oversee team workflow and efficiencies by maintaining a presence on the floor alongside the team.   Providing strategies to improve workflow and efficiency.   Responsible for administration and review of client complaints.Oversee client flow to ensure that clients and patients are seen and treated in a professional, timely and competent manner.Oversee billing, calculations of any discounts, and other special accounts.Monitor purchasing so the practice operates within budget. Monitor the staff scheduling so that the practice operates within budget. Monitor and approve all expenditures within NVA Ethos guidelines.Ensure that the OSHA and Safety program and procedures are monitored and updated so that the hospital is in safety compliance.Meet regularly with veterinarians to review financial performance.Review accounts receivable to confirm proper and timely processing.Understand, participate, and support planned marketing events and programs and ensure that the hospital staff utilizes marketing tools and materials and events and programs.Read and respond to all communication in a timely manner to ensure that VVC NVA Ethos policies, guidelines, and recommendations are quickly communicated to hospital staff and adequate training follows if needed.Essential Skills:Knowledge of financial budget management. Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.Background in managing service- oriented operations.Ability to plan, organize, and effectively present ideas and concepts.Ability to take information obtained from clients, staff, and other sources, discern that which I s credible land assess the hospital and its operation objectively.
