Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1
Job Summary: Schedule based on 40-hour work week. Duties include but are not limited to: will conduct interview of patients/family members for demographic and insurance data into EPIC computer system; obtain required signatures, distribute forms and patient cards to appropriate personnel; provide information and directions to patients; verify Medicaid, Medicare and HMO accounts. Will participate in cross training in other admitting areas. Provide clerical support duties including answering telephones, filing, copying, etc. and complete other duties as assigned. Must be able to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks effectively in a timely and accurate manner and function under stressful situations. Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills are necessary. Issue visitor badges, contacting nursing unit to ensure pt can have a visitor, escort pts in wheelchairs to their appointment. Minimum Qualifications: For consideration for this title, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: One year full-time clerical, secretarial or patient care experience in a healthcare setting. Work Days: Schedule based on 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10pm rotating every other weekend & holidays Message to Applicants: **The NYS Department of Civil Service has expanded the NY HELPS Program.
