Location: Upper Chesapeake Medical Center – Comprehensive Care Clinic, Bel Air Clinic
Reports To: Director of Hospital Medicine
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm)

Job Summary:

At UCH – Comprehensive Care Clinic, we are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Associate Medical Director to lead our Bel Air Clinic. The successful candidate will oversee clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care to complex patients with multiple co-morbidities and chronic conditions transitioning from the acute hospital setting to home. The Associate Medical Director will lead a multidisciplinary clinical team, develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, and coordinate care to ensure quality, effectiveness, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership and Oversight: Lead and supervise the clinical team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to optimize patient outcomes. Coordinate care for complex patients transitioning from the acute hospital setting to home, ensuring safety and continuity of care. Promote the multidisciplinary care management process and continuum of care, focusing on outcomes management. Quality Improvement and Patient Safety: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations. Monitor emerging care issues, trends, and technological advancements to enhance clinical practice. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care and safety. Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise and mentor clinical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and professional growth. Provide constructive feedback, and support staff development. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary team members. Collaboration and Strategic Planning: Collaborate with other departments and leadership to achieve organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with clinic and organizational objectives. Represent the clinic in internal and external meetings, advocating for patient care excellence and clinic needs.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and Training: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Active State Medical License, DEA, and State Controlled Substance Registration (CSR). Work Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of acute care or related clinical experience required. Experience in a fast-paced clinical environment with complex patient populations preferred. Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and stakeholders. Critical thinking and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure and in ambiguous situations. Proficiency in multidisciplinary care management and understanding of continuum of care models. Knowledge of emerging care issues, healthcare trends, new technology applications, and outcomes management.
