Primary Responsibilities: + Patient Care Management: + Oversee and manage the care of hospitalized patients during the overnight shift. + Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and provide comprehensive assessments and treatment. + Coordinate with the daytime hospitalist team for smooth transitions of care. + Procedures (Required): + Perform essential inpatient procedures: + Ensure adherence to safety protocols and evidence-based practices during all procedures. + Critical Care Support: + Provide coverage and management for ICU patients in collaboration with a dedicated ICU proceduralist (if applicable). + Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate advanced care as necessary. + Collaboration and Communication: + Work closely with nursing staff, APPs, and consultants to ensure high-quality patient care. + Provide clear and effective handoffs to the daytime team, summarizing overnight events and patient progress. + Documentation: + Maintain thorough and accurate medical records using the EMR system (Meditech). + Document all patient interactions, procedures, and care plans in a timely manner. + Quality Improvement: + Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Stay updated with advancements in hospital medicine and procedural techniques.
