JOB OVERVIEW:

As a host at Café la Vie you will primarily be responsible for greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant or pool deck, while maintaining a courteous and efficient operation to ensure guest satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Meet and greet guests as they arrive, explain restaurant concept, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu. Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management. Maintain proper set-up of dining room. Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant. Assist in the overall function and success of restaurant. Tasks may include bussing tables, running food, and taking/delivering in-room dining orders Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Positive Attitude with a team first mentality Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of situation. Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations; includes ability to respond promptly to guest requests Basic knowledge of food & beverage or a passion for learning Experience with MICROS preferred Experience with OpenTable preferred Ability to stand for long periods time and push-pull up to 25 lbs
