ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet guests in a polite, positive manner. Answer guest questions and offer menu recommendations.
Seat guests appropriately and efficiently at tables and offer beverages.
Take food and beverage orders and ring up sales on register/POS system in accurate, efficient, and friendly manner.
Complete all “side-work” including stocking service areas with coffee, food items, tableware, and linens.
Report gratuities at the end of each shift as required by company policy and law.
Assist in porter duties of adjacent lobby occasionally as needed.
Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
Upsell guests when the occasion arises.
Prepare requested food and/or drinks and deliver them to the guest.
Pull espresso shots, steam milk, and mix coffee beverages.
Pour and serve alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer.
Check customer identification to assure legal drinking age before serving alcohol.
Maintain store displays daily through stock rotation, cleaning, and organizing.
Receive and verify quantities of merchandise, organize and stock store, set displays.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred
Knowledge of or ability to learn to create specialty coffees and other drinks. Previous barista experience preferred.
Strong sanitation habits and attention to detail.
Strong guest service abilities.
Actively look for ways to assist guests and co-workers.
Ability to learn and use food service POS system including computerized cash register and credit card terminal
Ability to solve guest problems and refer to management as necessary
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
21 years of age or older due to serving alcoholic drinks.
Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently; otherwise move in a changing environment.
Lift, carry, and push up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
Able to stand for extended periods and climb stairs occasionally.
Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English; read and write in English.
Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
