Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing basic repairs and routine maintenance of the hotel tower including the front desk and lobby areas, convention and meeting spaces and the pool and spa.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the Hotel and associated areas with regard to basic repairs in Carpentry, Plumbing, (i.e. drain clearing) and Painting workPerforms general maintenance to guestrooms, completing maintenance work orders on a timely basisParticipates and schedules work in accordance with preventive maintenance programs, coordinating with Housekeeping, Front Desk and Engineering management

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists Electrician, Carpenter, Plumber, HVAC and Painters as needed and directed to ensure tasks are complete and rooms can be placed back on the marketWorks on projects as directed by Hotel Engineering Supervisor and Manager to rehab guest rooms and common places throughout all areas of Hotel and convention spacesMaintains the cleanliness and organization of work areas

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Two years of experience in general maintenance

Competencies:  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Basic knowledge of the safe and effective use of all types of power tools utilized in the general maintenance fieldAbility to interpret and follow instructions and specifications such as blueprints, manuals, sketches and work ordersMeasures accurately and calculates dimensions

Training Requirements:

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance used in this fieldAll current and future training requirements as prescribed by Mohegan Tribal Safety department and the Mohegan Environmental Protection department deemed necessary for this trade area

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and climb a ladderMust be able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to wear a breathing maskRequires frequent use of elevators and stairways to gain efficient access to various levels of the propertyMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
