Houck Roofing Crew Leader
Cl a s sification: N o n -Exempt Reports to: General Manager/Project Manager Jo b Description S u mmary/Objective Communicate with customers. Perform roof leak investigations and repairs. Installing various roof systems, primarily Single-Ply, but can also include Mod-Bit, BUR and coatings. This work is typically on low-sloped existing buildings but can also include some new construction projects. Fabricate and install edge metals. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. + Ab ide by and enforce all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines. + Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. + Erect scaffolding, set up ladders, or work out of aerial equipment. + Install protection on adjacent surfaces. + Remove water from roofs. + Lo ad and unload trucks. + Remove and dispose of existing roofing material. + Carry and place various materials for installation. + Operate hand tools and small equipment, with proper training. + Apply adhesives in a variety of techniques, including spray, roller and hot mop. + Roll out and position singly-ply and BUR materials. + Install flashing and associated trim. + Apply roof surfacing, to include coating and/or various sizes of gravel. + Clean construction site and eliminate possible hazards. + Communicate effectively with coworkers. + Receives instructions from supervisor. + Oversees the production and safety requirements of the job and crew members. + Completes and submits all required paperwork, time worked and materials needed for each job. + D riving the company vehicle. Foreman is responsible for proper use and maintenance of company vehicle. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials and equipment. Tr a v e l Mo s tly in-state travel is required, sometimes overnight or multiple-day stays out of town. Company does not guarantee transportation. The ability to lead a traveling roofing crew when needed is a plus.
