Title: Hourly Laboratory Assistant Department: Mechanical and Industrial Engr Reports To: Assistant Professor Mechanical and Industrial Engr Position Type: Staff Position Summary: Dr. Swissler is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Assistant to support work being done in his lab. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with the daily operations of the lab and working alongside students to facilitate their research projects. Essential Functions: - Assist with the overall management and maintenance of the robotics lab. - Collaborate with students on their research projects, providing technical support and guidance. - Support the use and maintenance of lab equipment, including 3D printers. - Contribute to the development and testing of robotic systems. - Maintain organized lab documentation and inventory. - Other duties as assigned. Prerequisite Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or related field) required. - Experience with 3D printing, mechatronics, and robotics is strongly preferred. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
