Responsibilities

The House Supervisor at a hospital is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the facility during non-business hours, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves coordinating staffing, resources, and services to meet the hospital's needs, handling emergency situations, and providing leadership to staff across departments. The House Supervisor ensures that safety protocols, hospital policies, and regulatory standards are followed while serving as a key point of contact for physicians, staff, and patients. Additionally, they support clinical and administrative functions, assist in resolving patient care issues, and act as a liaison between senior management and hospital personnel.

Communicates, verbally or in written form, to Clinical Directors and Administration, problems, decisions, and actions taken concerning patient care and/or unit function on assigned shift.Makes walk-through rounds at least twice on assigned shift to oversee nursing care and to ascertain condition of patientsInterprets, implements, and supervises compliance of hospital personnel to safety, infection control, personnel, administrative, specific department and nursing policies and procedures.Oversees nursing unit staffing to assure appropriate levels of personnel and maintenance of budgetary targets and provides direction to staffing and bed control issues (coordinates placement of patients to the appropriate unit from the various entry points i.e., ED, direct admit, transfer from other facility, etc.)Coordinates activities with all hospital services and families in providing for the patient's needs; assists in the provision of patient care; and effectively reallocates personnel as necessary.Functions in a way that promotes attainment of hospital strategic goals: holds staff members accountable, completes follow up as necessary, rounds to observe compliance, coaches and develops as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum: 

Associate's Degree in Nursing Arizona or compact state RN license (RN)American Heart Association-issued BLS cardAmerican Heart Association-issued ACLS card

Preferred:

Three (3) years experience in a nursing leadership role or charge nurse position in which supervisory and communication abilities have been demonstrated.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
