JOB SUMMARY

The House Supervisor will act as the in-house administrative representative and resource person for all patients, staff, staff physicians, and visitors.

Patient Care: Works with team members to develop or improve processes to assure a remarkable patient experience.  

Creates and maintains a healthy work environment that results in improved patient outcomes, retention, and organizational excellence.   Collaborates with physicians to develop or improve processes surrounding care of patients.  Coordinates the provision of patient care through delegation, problem solving, time management and organizational skills. 

Quality: Works in partnership with leaders to create, support, and maintain a culture of professional accountability. 

Partners with family and patients to resolve concerns related to the delivery of health care.  Assures that team members provide care that is consistent with The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements. 

Communication: Ensures timely and consistent communication to provide exemplary care.  

Provides progress updates to team members in a timely manner.  Utilizes communication methods and tools to deliver information that improves quality of personal and organizational decisions.  Collaborates with physicians to develop or improve processes surrounding care of patients.  Assists with conducting departmental meetings.    Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity and inclusion.   Coaches and mentors the team in order to achieve goals. 

Medical Knowledge: Demonstrates core knowledge of biomedical and clinical sciences and the application of this knowledge to patient care.  

Meets and maintains required certifications and licenses.   Monitors operations on a daily basis and provides guidance to the nursing team.  Develops and implements plan for self-development and succession planning.  

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate from an NLNAC accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred. Graduate degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required. Management experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure: Current RN licensure in applicable state required.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Has knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to modify care and interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care according to patient’s age, health, and developmental status. Has demonstrated sound and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, good interpersonal skills, and good intra and interdepartmental relationships.

The job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
