Promotes and maintains continuity of care for patients and is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating all care during assigned shift. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health. Supports PRN Needs of St. Luke's The Woodlands and The Vintage Hospitals, 1 shift per week ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for supervising nursing units in the absence of unit managers. 2. Active participant of calculating and monitoring Hours Per Patient Days along with acuity of patients, in relationship to staffing units accurately, safely, and cost effective under the direction of the unit manager. 3. Utilizes nursing personnel effectively, assists with required scheduling, staffing and assignments, and collaborates with other department managers/supervisors/charge to ensure smooth coordination of services to patients, enhances patient flow within the facility, and efficient admission/discharge/transfer processes 4. Receives report from off-going shift, give report to oncoming shift, and makes rounds 5. Open on-going dialog with unit managers. 6. Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies 7. Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures 8. Must be able to step in to assist staff in response to work load or staffing demands. 9. Maintains clinical exposure through actual intervention, coordination of patient care, role modeling, consulting, problem solving, and in-services. **Qualifications** **Required:** Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience and one (1) year of leadership experience Previous Supervisory experience in a Critical Access Hospital Current Texas Nursing License AHA BLS **Minimum Education in combination with experience required:** Associate Nursing Degree with a minimum 3 years experience in the discipline Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree in Nursing and no experience in the discipline. **Pay Range** $38.81 - $56.28 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
