Work involves coordinating custodial housekeeping and supply operations. Worker exercises independent judgement. Work is performed under general supervision. JOB DESCRIPTION: + Schedules and monitors housekeeping and supply activities in state buildings in order to ensure work is accomplished correctly and in a timely manner. + Schedules building inspections in order to ensure cleanliness and orderliness standards are met. + Evaluates custodial, housekeeping, and supply programs and recommends changes in order to improve operations. Implements changes in cleaning procedures in order to improve program effectiveness. + Trains new employees in order to enable them to perform assigned cleaning tasks. + Records data and completes reports in order to document activities and provide information. + Develops and implements linen distribution procedures in order to ensure availability of required linen at all times. + Implements and complies with human resource laws, policies, procedures and practices such as: AA/EEO, recruitment, employment, position classification, performance appraisals, training, discipline, contract administration, human resource components of security protocols of agency information security and confidentiality policies, and employee safety. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: + Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. + Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in large-scale housekeeping and custodial operations. + Knowledge of the operation and care of hand and power cleaning equipment. + Ability to supervise subordinate personnel. + Ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise employees engaged in a variety of custodial and housekeeping functions. + Ability to evaluate housekeeping operations and recommend policy and procedural changes. + Ability to maintain comprehensive records and prepare reports. + Ability to use applicable computer programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience in industrial or institutional housekeeping work including considerable supervisory experience.
