Housekeeper Job - St Helens Merseyside - full-time Monday to Friday - £30,000+ GPA

Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to take on a role looking after a busy family home in St Helens.  You will be working long-side another full-time Housekeeper to look after the property which has 8 bedrooms. 

You will be sharing duties with the other housekeeper and together, work to keep the home running smoothly.  The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in private housekeeping, maintaining large properties or luxury establishments to the highest standards. This role provides the opportunity to work in a beautiful setting, where you will help preserve the cleanliness and functionality of a prestigious manor house.

Please Note: Candidates must be able to commute easily to St Helens and attend in-person interviews. There will be a trial shift for those who successfully complete the interview stage, and the position can begin immediately for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

Daily & Weekly Cleaning: Vacuum, mop, polish, and disinfect all areas throughout the property.

Laundry & Linen: Manage linen, laundry, and ironing to hotel-quality standards.

Maintenance & Reporting: Identify and address minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs) and report larger maintenance issues as needed.

Deep Cleaning Arrangements: Organize professional deep cleaning services when required.

Time Management: Efficiently plan daily tasks to ensure thorough cleaning of all areas.

Team Collaboration: Work alongside the current cleaner to maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness.

Stock Control: Monitor and order housekeeping supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.

Office Cleaning: Clean and organize the on-site office space on a weekly basis.

Household Support: Manage household post, deliveries, and assist with other ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years in a housekeeping or cleaning role, with proven experience as a private housekeeper highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to maintain large properties, hotels, or spas to a high standard.

Solid knowledge of cleaning techniques, bed-making, and presentation skills reflective of a professional, hotel-quality level.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to commute reliably to St Helens and attend in-person interviews.

Successful candidates will be asked to complete a trial shift following interview approval.

Hours will be 9.00 to 5.30 Monday to Friday with two Saturday mornings per month, taking off the Wednesday morning the following week
