Housekeeping Coordinator

The Housekeeping Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the housekeeping department by coordinating daily tasks, managing communication between housekeeping and other departments, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to uphold The Peninsula Hotel’s cleanliness and service standards.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Assign and distribute daily housekeeping tasks to room attendants, house attendants, and other housekeeping staff. Maintain and update housekeeping records, including room status reports, lost and found logs, and supply inventories. Track and monitor room status to ensure timely cleaning and guest readiness. Handle guest requests related to housekeeping services, such as extra amenities, special cleaning needs, and laundry services. Act as a liaison between housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, and other hotel departments to facilitate efficient operations. Respond promptly to guest complaints or issues related to cleanliness and housekeeping services. Ensure all housekeeping staff adhere to hotel cleanliness standards, policies, and safety protocols. Monitor and report maintenance issues to the engineering department. Assist in training new housekeeping employees on procedures, standards, and safety protocols. Support inventory control by tracking usage and requesting restocking of cleaning supplies and linens.

 

General Requirements:

 

Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role within Housekeeping in a Luxury Hotel environment with similar standards and expectations. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills, be able to work well under pressure with a variety of people, handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to resolve issues with minimal consultation and naturally positive. Ability to deal with a high level of work demand and pressure and show flexibility as well as understanding of the expectations. Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field - Preferred
