Overview We're looking for a qualified, motivated Housekeeping Inspector. The Housekeeping Inspector will supervise, direct, assist, and assure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants and Housepersons in guest rooms and corridors to maintain Costa d' Este Beach Resort & Spa's high standards of cleanliness. To inspect guestrooms for all RA assigned on a daily basis including VIP rooms. To assist new Room Attendants on cleaning techniques and standards. • Inspect assigned quota of rooms daily according to standards. • Insure standards of cleanliness and productivity are being met at all times. • Perform scored inspections according to standards • Provide one on one coaching to room attendant not meeting the standards including sending - Room Attendant back to rooms • Communicate with Supervisor on training needs according to inspections and participate in pre-shift training. • Inspect linen closets & housekeeping carts and report to Supervisor • Report needs of supplies to Supervisor • Offers assistance to guests in a courteous manner. • Reports all maintenance problems in hotel system. • Records lost and found items in hotel system & delivers to the Front Desk. • Trains new Room Attendants on room cleaning techniques and property standards. • Perform Room Attendant duties when business level requires it. • Prioritize Room Attendant cleaning schedule according to needs of Front Office • Updates room status with the proper code through the telephone in each room. • Respond to HK Radio request as needed. • Coordinate Houseperson duties to ensure that needs of Room Attendant are being met. • Work with Supervisor to ensure all rooms are ready for Front Desk for check-ins • Prepare any end of day reports for supervisors Qualifications SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment. Ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to complete forms such as a room status report and meet guest needs/requests. Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates. Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Ability to exercise judgement and implement control over the performance of subordinates. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education: Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School education preferred. Experience: Minimum six months supervisory experience or one year of comparable Housekeeping experience acceptable. Licenses or certificates: None. Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available). Other: Knowledge of other languages desirable. Note: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $16.00/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
