Housekeeping - Special Projects 2

SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Special Project 2 is responsible for the maintenance of marble on floors, counters and walls in guest rooms, marble in guest corridors, vending areas, and linen closets using proper chemicals and machinery.  In this role they will ensure the rooms are kept in their optimal condition. They will deliver prompt, courteous and team minded service throughout the entire resort and adhere to all Grand Sierra Resort standards.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES  include the following. other duties may be assigned.

Clean and maintain marble floor in all guest rooms on a rotating and as needed basis

·         Clean and maintain marble on shower walls on a rotating and as needed basis

·         Clean and maintain marble floor on guest corridors on a rotating and as needed basis

·         Deep clean all hotel rooms at minimum 2 times a year on a rotating basis, and track to ensure all rooms are touched

·         Able to determine if additional attention or treatment is needed for the care of the carpet

·         Makes recommendations on condition of furniture or other aspects of the room that might need further care or replacement

·         Communicates to management on all supplies or tools needed to do the job effectively

·         Assists in ongoing maintenance and replacement of furniture in all rooms and guest facing hotel areas

·         Makes note while deep cleaning of missing furniture or accessories like vases

·         Assist in upholstery cleaning and repair as needed

QUALIFICATIONS      
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.  Previous Housekeeping experience preferred. Carpet care experience and ability to operate cleaning machines required. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of functions to be determined based upon the needs of the Hotel.  Must be able to listen and respond to guest inquiries in a positive and professional manner.

 

 

EDUCATION

Any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to communicate in English, verbal and written sufficient enough to perform job duties as well as read all labels on chemical bottles.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, hotel environment and effectively deal with guests, management, Team Members and others. Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the hotel; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Is regularly required to work with machinery. They must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time.  May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull. The Team Member must consistently be able to lift and/or move/push up to 75 pounds.  Team member must be able to operate vacuum cleaners, dustpans and brooms.  Team Member must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals and the smell and residue of those chemicals used.
