Housekeeping Supervisor | Central Facilities Management Office

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Janitorial Services Section, the Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for implementing operational standards for cleaning and supervising the work performance of housekeeping maintenance personnel.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Housekeeping and Maintenance

Recommends and implements operational standards and procedures for cleaning Oversees the services provided are in accordance to set standards and delivered in a timely manner Leads the team in the planning and execution of all maintenance related needs and requests of the LS community, when necessary Ensures stocks of housekeeping supplies and equipment are adequate to maintain the upkeep of the assigned zone, in coordination with the Administration Group Monitors the issuance of supplies and equipment to the maintenance staff Conducts regular audit of supplies & equipment inventory as basis for forecasting to facilitate effective scheduling of orders Monitors the inventory and condition of all loose furniture and equipment issued in their assigned zone Facilitates reporting and repairs of defective equipment, furniture, and building systems Reports and recommends to Facilities and Utilities Group needed repairs or replacements of defective equipment or furniture Coordinates with the Facilities and Utilities Group for preventive maintenance of facilities and other utility improvements Coordinates with the Administration Group all logistical and set-up requirements of various events in the University Facilitates the assignment of the required manpower and equipment Ensures the requested services and equipment provided are in working order and delivered in a timely manner Monitors the issuance and return of the requested furniture and equipment Prepares estimates for operational costs, for use and reference of the Janitorial Services Section Head Provides inputs in preparing the budget for housekeeping and maintenance works, and assists in managing and monitoring of the said budget

II. Team Supervision

Supervises, monitors, and evaluates the performance of staff and recommends corresponding personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissal Orients and trains staff on tasks to be accomplished, the proper implementation of work policies and procedures, and the required specifications and standards Plans and prepares work schedules and assignments, and scope of work of the supervised staff Provides feedback and coaches staff to further develop their performance Maintains required records of employee work hours, budgets, payrolls, and other pertinent information Coaches and mentors the staff to resolve performance concerns Guides the staff in the proper implementation of work policies and procedures, as well as the efficient use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies Investigates complaints regarding service provided and, takes corrective action

III. Performs other tasks as may be assigned by immediate supervisor or authorized representative
