Job Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. This role involves supervising and guiding the housekeeping team, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for members. The supervisor will also support the management team by assisting with staff training, performance evaluations, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Leadership Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping staff in all areas which include, chemical training, cabins, clubhouse, and stations. Assign daily tasks and workloads to team members to ensure efficient operation. Monitor performance and provide feedback to staff with assistance of management, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, member satisfaction, and productivity. Conduct regular inspections of cabins and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met. Cleaning Standards & Quality Control Ensure all cabins, hallways, restrooms, and public areas are cleaned according to the property's standards. Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the property, including cabins, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. Conduct quality control checks and inspections to ensure the highest level of cleanliness. Ensure the correct usage of cleaning products and equipment. Guest Relations & Service Address member complaints or concerns regarding housekeeping services and resolve them promptly. Ensuring that our team members are holding high standards to engage and be the friendliest team to our members. Ensure cabins are ready for members by managing time per cabin with team to ensure cabin is ready by guaranteed check-in, meeting the quality standards for comfort and cleanliness. Collaborate with the front desk and other departments to meet guest requests and needs efficiently. Inventory Management Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, coded storage at the end of every month, active communication with management regarding inventory needs. Ensure proper storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring all chemical bottles are labeled with correct label, ensuring safety standards are followed. Track and control the use of supplies to prevent waste and ensure budget compliance. Training & Development Conduct training sessions for new and existing staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service skills. Ensure all team members are familiar with safety regulations and proper use of equipment and chemicals. Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment through ongoing coaching and development. Health & Safety Compliance Enforce adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations in all housekeeping operations. Ensure compliance with local regulations related to cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards. Oversee the proper disposal of waste and linens, adhering to environmental sustainability practices where applicable. Administrative Tasks Prepare reports on inventory usage, staffing, and performance metrics as required by management.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certifications in hospitality management, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred. Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in a housekeeping or custodial role, supervisory or management position preferred, within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Experience in staff management and training preferred. Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Ability to handle member complaints and resolve issues with professionalism. Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Basic computer skills (e.g., for scheduling and reporting). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25-30 lbs). Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays. May involve working in a variety of weather conditions. Required to at least work 7 to 8 hours a day/32-40 hours a week.
