**The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) is seeking an individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee and complete housekeeping, laundry and other required cleaning assignments in the resident care or common areas of the Home.**
This position is responsible for:
-Effectively working with the Home Administrator to ensure the delivery of all housekeeping and laundry services meets regulatory requirements and agency standards.
-Providing direction, guidance, and supervisor to staff who provide for the housekeeping and laundry needs of the residents and campus.
-Establishing documents and procedures for cleaning and sanitizing and ensuring through periodic inspections that these procedures are followed.
-Ensuring equipment and supplies are purchased and appropriate inventory of needed housekeeping and laundry supplies and materials are on hand.
-Plan, propose, establish, and submit budget requests and cost estimates to meet the Home’s housekeeping and laundry services’ needs and staffing.
**Minimum Qualifications**

+ One (1) year of experience performing custodial or housekeeping work that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
+ Experience as a supervisor, team lead, lead worker, or project lead sufficient to effectively supervise staff and oversee the work of contractors/vendors as required.
+ Communication skills sufficient to ensure staff understand assigned tasks and to document and ensure compliance with housekeeping and laundry-related procedures.
+ Basic computer skills to use email, word processing and spreadsheet software to correspond with others, keep records and write reports.
+ Organizational and planning skills sufficient to plan, prioritize and complete work assignments in accordance with established time frames.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with MDVA leadership and staff, residents and their family members, vendors, and other clientele.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Two (2) or more years of experience performing custodial or housekeeping work.
+ Housekeeping/custodial experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
+ Experience complying with state and federal regulations, such as Department of Health regulations.
+ Experience in purchasing and maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies.
+ Thorough knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment sufficient to evaluate cleaning quality and adjust cleaning frequencies and employee workload to maintain established quality levels.
+ Skills related to making cost estimates and budget requests.
+ Experience coordinating professional/technical contracts and/or overseeing contractors/vendors.
**Additional Requirements**
This position requires successful completion of the following:
+ A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
+ A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
