Responsibilities Responsibilities: Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement and Core Values. Assists with scheduling, training, and evaluating the progress of Guest Room Attendants, Common Area, Bell Staff, Carpet cleaners, and Inspectors. Responsible for working varied shifts to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Assists management in department orientation and training practices of new GRAs, Common Area, Inspectors, Bell staff, and Carpet Cleaner. Maintains appropriate staffing levels according to schedule and needs of the department, utilizing best judgment and sending staff home early if needed. Reporting and follow-up of preventative maintenance and current maintenance issues within the lodging unit. Assists with scheduled inventories for linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies and maintains supply and inventory pars for same. Maintains compliance with PCI (Payment Card Industry) and Lost and Found Credit Card Policies, ensuring employees are trained and the policies are practiced at all times concerning guest and Company property alike. Adheres to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies while performing their tasks and ensures staff compliance. Communicates professionally and effectively with Front Desk staff, Bell staff, Maintenance, other Housekeeping employees, and vendors. Works with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate cleaning and preparation of guest rooms prior to guest arrival, and after departure. Conducts and/or coordinates final inspections prior to guest arrival per established procedures. Works with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate the ongoing cleaning, preparation, and general order of all common areas including restrooms, hallways, and meeting rooms. As a “Manager on Duty”, reports and documents emergency situations per established procedures. Performs opening duties for Rooms Department/Housekeeping as assigned. Completes assigned tasks without close supervision. Takes responsibility as Department Manager on Duty as necessary. Assists with Bell Staff, Common Area, and Guest Room Attendant duties as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Previous leadership experience. Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout on GCR property, including general knowledge of Xanterra Grand Canyon Railway guest services with the ability to convey information to the guests. Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, and bending/ stooping. Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing. Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Constant carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 lbs. Constantly pushing loaded carts weighing up to 500 lbs. Constantly listening, hearing, and seeing.
