Housekeeping Supervisor - Winn Army Community Hospital

PCSI is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the Housekeeping staff in a military hospital setting on the evening shift. This role supervises a staff of housekeepers by directing employees on housekeeping assignments, arranging schedules, and providing leadership and training. The Housekeeping Supervisor also ensures supports site leadership with ensuring that contract work is completed efficiently and within budget.

This position directly reports to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and is based at Winn Army Community Hospital in Fort Stewart, GA. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm with occasional weekends.

Benefits Include:

Base pay of $46,000.00 to $51,000.00 annually, depending upon experience. Annual bonus of up to 6%. 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays. Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage: employee-only tier offered at no cost to the employee. 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.

What You'll Do as a Environmental Services Supervisor:

Provide direct supervision to Housekeepers according to policies and procedures that promotes the highest standard and quality of service delivery throughout the facility. Provide leadership and direction in monitoring, training and motivating employees. Coordinate department activities with other departments and agencies as needed. Provide technical support and expertise to housekeepers. Promote a culture of accountability by establishing documented conduct and performance expectations for each job and employee. Actively participate in both formal and informal employee recognition programs and events. Assures that assigned areas of responsibilities are performed within budget and that there is an effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials and time maintained. Additionally, monitors the use of supplies and equipment. Report employee attendance and administer corrective action timely and in accordance with PCSI policy and procedures and the CBA. Act on Leave Requests timely. Report any absenteeism that might be covered under Federal Statute to the Office Manager or Executive Housekeeper. Assume responsibility for the housekeeping department in the absence of direct supervisor.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of one (1) year of prior experience working as a supervisor in housekeeping or janitorial services, or related experience. Experience with environmental services in a hospital or other medical setting strongly preferred. Driver's license required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment. Experience with all Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Outlook. Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to assist and clearly communicate with others as needed. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, hospital staff and government officials. Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.

Other Requirements:

Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening. Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record. Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-60 pounds. Occasionally push objects up to 100 pounds; Prolong walking up to 90%. If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
