Job Overview:

The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the Medical Center objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

Successful completion of general and department specific orientation

Preferred:

Previous Hospital housekeeping preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

Per diem is based on the operation needs. This status can be any shift so flexibility in avilablity is required. Every other weekend required

Essential Functions:

Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairsAssists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon requestCleans housekeeping closet and maintains par levelsCollects and transport all waste, including RMW, according to policyCompacts trash or places in containersDamp buffs and shampoo carpets with approved equipmentDry and wet mops floors of rooms and officesDust mops and wet mops corridor, stairwells and other common areasEmpties waste receptacles and removes trashMaintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when neededObserves and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixturesPerforms patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedureRefills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensersPatient Ready Room: All patient rooms must be Patient ready at all times. Tent card must be in every patient room. Toilet seat band must be on everytoilet. Privacy curtains must be in every patient room
