Job Title: Housing Coordinator--Vancouver Campus: Vancouver, British Columbia Canada Department: Enrollment and Student Services-Vancouver Hiring Manager: June Cho Hiring Manager Title: Associate Director of Career Services College: Position Type: Staff Grade: FLSA: Non-Exempt Faculty Rank: Salary: 60000 - 70000 CAD Status: Full-Time Months Worked: 12 Month Job Summary: The Housing Coordinator will work with the Office of Student Services to plan and manage housing-related events and activities. This role will be the main point of contact for students seeking housing assistance and will use student feedback to improve housing services. Ultimately, the Housing Coordinator’s goal is to contribute to a positive student experience by offering helpful resources and support for off-campus accommodation.Supervision Received:Reports to and receives day-to-day work direction from the Director of Student Services. Receives general oversight and supervision concerning methods, procedures and policies. The incumbent is expected to work independently on assigned projects and may receive direction on special projects from the directors in other areas.Principal Duties:1. Provide direct assistance to students in finding suitable off-campus housing options.2. Build relationships with local landlords, property management companies, neighborhood communities, local and non-governmental organizations.3. Organize and manage housing-related events and workshops.4. Create and maintain resources and tools to aid students in their housing search, keeping FDU Housing website up to date.5. Contribute to the development of housing policies and procedures.6. Track and analyze student housing data to identify trends and analyze data on student housing satisfaction, challenges, and successes.7. Keep informed about changes in local housing markets, BC Residential Tenancy Act and FIPPA legislation.
8. Work closely with other university departments, such as student services, financial aid, and international student services.9. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.Standards:1. Capable of frequent independent judgment, discretion, initiative, and the assumption of responsibility within the defined scope of this position.2. Ability to independently compose correspondence and other material and perform editing and correction of punctuation and spelling.3. Must be able to work on a diversity of projects simultaneously and maintain professionalism and a high level of accuracy.4. Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and external stakeholders.5. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.6. High degree of reliability and punctuality.

Required Qualifications: 1. High School diploma or GED required.2. Previous experience preferred in student affairs, residence life leadership, or university-based housing programs.3. Must possess a strong commitment to student success and a passion for providing excellent support services.4. Strong knowledge of the local housing market, rental regulations, and student housing trends. Must have a proven track record of working with a diverse student population.5. Demonstrated knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act or relevant training in landlord, tenant, or off-campus housing support, such as Renting-it-Right, Landlord BC Training, or equivalent.6. Effective analytical and research skills balanced with innovative thinking.7. Multicultural experience, cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to speak multiple languages is also preferred.8. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using student information systems and other relevant software.
9. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the University’s Motor Vehicle Policy. An ICBC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the University. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing an ICBC check.10. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.11. Canadian residency or work permit required.12. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
