As a Housing Liaison, you will be a vital part of our compassionate and collaborative team dedicated to empowering individuals in recovery or those with disabilities to achieve stability and thrive in their communities. This role offers the opportunity to engage directly with clients, assist them in meeting basic needs, and support them in finding safe and affordable housing. In this role, you will address housing crises, connect individuals to essential resources, and build strong networks of supportive housing in the community. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with local Continuums of Care, serving as a housing resource expert, and working to resolve housing challenges. Key Responsibilities:
Engage with individuals experiencing housing crises and collaborate to develop sustainable solutions.
Actively assist clients in finding safe, affordable housing and resolving homelessness or housing instability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local landlords and provide education about community programs.
Connect clients to essential services, including behavioral health, substance use, physical health, and employment resources.
Attend and participate in Coordinated Entry/Case Conferencing meetings within the local Continuum of Care.
Use SOAR training to assist individuals in applying for benefits and essential documentation.
Support households in identifying readiness to transition to permanent housing options.
Participate in statewide Housing Liaison training and calls to stay informed about resources and best practices.
Serve as a housing and resource expert for clients, case managers, and agency administration.
Maintain accurate and timely data collection and entry as required by DMH.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
Experience working with individuals experiencing housing instability, disabilities, or recovery challenges.
Familiarity with Housing First, harm reduction, and low-barrier service models preferred.
Strong ability to build relationships with clients, landlords, and community partners.
Knowledge of local and state housing resources and services is a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel within the community to meet with clients, landlords, and other partners.
Ability to lift and transport small items related to assisting clients in moving processes.
