Housing Program Specialist
Summary This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner. As a Housing Program Specialist, you will: Accountable for all activities of a program area including directing and supervising a staff assigned to a specific program area within the Division. Evaluate work of subordinates to determine whether stated objectives are met, advises and trains staff regarding program objectives, make recommendations to the Director and or Deputy Director of program requirements concerning staff, time and budget and reports on staff performance and program operation. Provide technical direction and supervision to staff to assure compliance with established procedures, policies and prescribed management and operating techniques, Requirements Conditions of Employment Candidates will be selected for a job assigned to one of the official duty stations listed in this announcement. A one year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Please refer to "Additional Information Section for additional Conditions of Employment." Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Providing leadership, coordination, and guidance to Housing Program staff; and Coordinating the servicing, loss mitigation and risk management program activities through the review of both FHA-Insured forward and reverse mortgage loans; and Supervising a staff tasked with interpreting Housing Policy and Housing Program Support Operations. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
