S:US is seeking a Housing Specialist for their womens shelter in Manhattan.

 

This position is locataedat 205 West 135th Street New York, NY 10030

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

The Housing Specialist for the shelter will establish linkages and maintain solid working relationships with supportive housing providers, real estate brokers, managing agents, and landlords as a resource for consumers. Provide supportive social services including individual and group counseling, workshops, education, referrals, and escorting in an effort to prepare consumers for successfully securing and maintaining permanent housing. Prepare and assist consumers with the housing application/interview process.

 

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.Two years in human services field and knowledge of trauma.Good interpersonal skill set, able to work independently and still function as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft.

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in human Services or related field preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
