HP Spark Management Associate - Data Scientist

What a Data Scientist does at HP:

Be a trusted advisor in the analytics discipline.Good visualization skills to create real-time dashboards and/or reports to inform trends and insights.Create algorithms to extract information from large data sets.Generate deep insights by analyzing data and understanding operational processes and turning them into actionable recommendations.Develop scalable, efficient, automated processes for model development, model validation, model implementation and large scale data analysis.Develop project guideline, objectives, metrics, deliverables and prototypes that can be used to drive manufacturing excellence.Collaborate with others in the organization to develop new ideas and brainstorm potential solutions.Create algorithms to extract information from large data sets.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Data Analytics. Statistics, Computer science, Mathematics or related quantitative fields.Typically, 0-1 years of experience (fresh graduates).Candidates with strong research experience and exposure to real-world applications preferred.Excellent analytical thinking, programming (Python), and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of data analytics, data warehousing, database management (preferably using SQL).Software engineering techniques to build scalable and maintainable applications.Fundamental knowledge of statistics and probability.Knowledge of machine learning algorithms/techniques.Ability to communicate ideas clearly and coherently in a convincing manner.Ability to influence and become a trusted advisor.

Inkjet and Printing Solutions (IPS) is a large contributor to the success of HP. It is an exciting blend of commercial and consumer products with strong market leadership around the globe. Within IPS, the Ink Supplies Ink Operations organization is responsible for the global manufacturing of Printhead and Ink cartridges. We have a Data Analytics team that focuses on Manufacturing, embracing HP core IT strategic pillars of Big Data/Cloud and leveraging on analytics to drive manufacturing excellence in predictive quality, predictive maintenance, work flow simplification and supply chain optimization. The primary role will be to work with distributed teams in developing predictive systems and create efficient algorithms to draw intelligence from existing data. This individual will work closely with our manufacturing domain experts and the business to evaluate, design and implement statistical analyses of manufacturing data to create analytic metrics and tools. Skills in getting at the heart of complex business are important. The candidate must be willing to experiment, learn, and try new and unfamiliar technologies. The candidate must be hands-on yet able to think from a system architecture perspective.
