The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) Business Area's (BA) Research Computing (RC) organization seeks high-performance computing (HPC) professionals to support its growing teams of scientists and engineers. The MDA RC organization is responsible for the design, development, deployment, security, operation, monitoring, management, and support of all computational hardware and software used for basic research, modeling and simulation, circuit design, and circuit testing. RC oversees multiple highly complex large compute clusters that are required in the daily work of users of diverse backgrounds, roles, and responsibilities. RC is searching for HPC operations, administration, and applications experts excited to learn new technologies and contribute to a highly dynamic organization.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain performance of network within a high-performance compute clusterContribute to design of new high-performance compute clustersDiagnose and resolve acute network faultsInterface with external network administrators to maintain system performanceAssess and report on network-induced operational risks and propose mitigation strategiesConfigure networks to meet customer requirementsInterface with user support staff to assess operational reality and adapt to needs as they ariseInterface with HPC System Administrators to diagnose network limitationsMonitor and maintain network hardwarePosition can be worked out of Annapolis Junction or Linthicum sites

Basic Qualifications for a Network Engineer:
Bachelors degree with 2 years' relevant experience; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s Degree. Will consider 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree.Strong Linux (Red Hat) proficiencyStrong knowledge and experience with concepts of network fabrics for high-performance computing applicationsStrong knowledge and experience maintaining compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Strong knowledge and experience monitoring and maintaining high-performance network hardwareExperience directing technical work of a small team of Linux Systems AdministratorsDemonstrated trong written and verbal communication skillsU.S. Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance with full scope polyBasic Qualifications for a Principal Network Engineer:

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
