HPT Supermarket – LEAP Turbine Airfoil Thermal Systems Design Lead Engineer
Job Description SummaryIn this role, you will be responsible for the thermal systems design of the new high pressure turbine stage 1 blades for the LEAP program, with the objective to mature the design from the conceptual phase through engine test to meet the program objectives in terms of time on wing. You will have the opportunity to participate in multiple design iterations over short periods of time, rapidly gaining technical expertise and a deep understanding of the manufacturing process for your components.

The design activities will include all thermal systems characteristics, i.e. internal cavity definitions, film cooling, and purge design. During the design phase, you will closely collaborate with the turbine aerodynamics, mechanical design, and manufacturing teams to new designs are well balanced, meeting all requirements and keeping producibility front of mind. Once designed, you will lead the definition and the execution of component characterization tests, as well as engine endurance tests (including post-test teardown, hardware evaluation, and model correlation).

This team additionally aims to improve the state-of-the-art of turbine airfoil thermal systems by opening the design space and introducing new technologies.
