The Payroll Specialist is an integral member of our Accounting Team and reports directly to our Accounting Manager. With the support of our accounting manager and VP of finance controller, the payroll specialist will assist with managing the full cycle of the multi-state company payroll of 800+ employees. This position best suits an individual with strong foundational payroll knowledge who embraces change and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service. After training, this position will be remote.
Responsibilities
Support the semi-monthly disbursement of companywide payroll, including garnishments, vacation, and other leave, as well as benefits and taxes for 800+ employees consistent with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.In conjunction with Human Resources, support the administration of the Paylocity system.Research discrepancies in payroll information to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures before semi-monthly payroll processing.Work with the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance Controller to oversee the preparation of various payroll documents, including employee maintenance documentation, quarterly tax returns, and annual W-2 processing to ensure internal and external compliance.Track and prepare necessary off-cycle payments.Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, accounting, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.Assist with reviewing expense reports to ensure timely compliance with expense policies and proper coding to the GL.Prepare and submit monthly reports to federal and state agencies.Support the monthly billing by pulling and organizing invoice support (timesheets, expense reports, etc).Assist with account reconciliations for assigned areas.Perform audit procedures as required.Provide backup support to team members as needed.Other duties as assigned Requirements 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment (special preference given to prior knowledge of working with California-based employees).An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.Experience working with a large payroll platform. Direct experience with Paylocity is highly desired.The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion is a must.Demonstrated ability to see tasks through to resolution.Strong customer service-oriented attitude and the ability to collaborate with others.High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines while maintaining quality of work.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including setting up Pivot Tables and using formulas with extensive data to increase efficiency.You will be a good fit for this position if...

Salary Description $60,000 - $70,000
