The Role
The McConnell Dowell Diona joint venture (Water Civil), is one of three major framework partners collaboratively delivering SA Water’s multi-billion dollar capital delivery program to improve water and sewerage services for South Australians.
We're looking for a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to help drive the success of this ambitious program by fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture across major infrastructure projects in South Australia. The projects are typically located north of metropolitan Adelaide and the Central Northern, Northern Region and Eyre Regions of South Australia.
About the Role:
As HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee relations for our joint venture. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with project teams, the Framework Manager, and corporate HR to ensure the effective mobilization and demobilization of staff, and to enhance the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding: In collaboration with the internal HR & Recruitment team, oversee recruitment processes for the JV. Manage onboarding to ensure all new staff are well-integrated and supported. Workforce Planning: Provide HR metrics, track workforce trends, and develop solutions to streamline processes. Ensure the project Mobilisation Schedule is reviewed and updated to identify changes in resource requirements and provide sufficient time to source additional staff when required. Employee Relations & Development: Collaborate with managers to ensure timely completion of probation reviews, support the performance review process and employee development through tailored plans. Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, especially supporting underrepresented groups. Strategic HR Initiatives: Work on high-impact projects like talent mapping, succession planning, and engagement surveys to ensure the team remains engaged and aligned with program goals. HR Systems & Compliance: Maintain and update HR systems, ensure accurate record-keeping, and assist with payroll coordination. Ensure compliance with company policies and industrial agreements. Cultural Alignment: Champion and demonstrate Water Civil Values by actively fostering collaborative and inclusive culture among all stakeholders.The successful applicant will ideally have:
Experience working in a similar role. Experience within the mining, Engineering, or construction industry. (desirable) Minimum Cert IV in HR, or a Bachelor's degree in a similar field (desirable). Exceptional administrative and organisational skills and ability to multi task. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders. Excellent computer and software skills; Word, Excel & Outlook. Sound written and verbal communication ability, requiring tact and patience in seeking information. Willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.About Us
