Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health invites applications for the position of Human Resource Assistant. Located in Norfolk Virginia, Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is a leading community partner providing acute, residential, and Partial Hospitalization treatment for children and teens exhibiting behavioral and/or mental health concerns. The hospital is dedicated to providing high quality care to children, adolescents and their families. We provide quality care to children and adolescents in need, using quality, evidence based practice treatments. Founded in 1986, Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is an 82-bed hospital facility accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). Position Scope: The Human Resource Assistant provides professional level human resources customer service to all members of the Kempsville team. This critical position supports the department by completing and coordinating various HR processes, including: Responsibilities: Process Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) transactions. Answer and respond to telephone and email inquiries. Update employee personnel data. Manage personnel records and filing system. Maintain and update certification and licensure data. Communicate deadlines to employees. Assist with scheduling interviews. Assist with new employee orientation (NEO). Maintain training records and transcripts. Initiate and complete onboarding documents (DMV checks, FBI and fingerprint based background checks, Child Protective Services (CPS) checks, etc.). Enter new employee onboarding data into systems. Qualifications Qualifications: Demonstrated experience providing human resource assistance in two of the following fields: benefits, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, training, EEO, HRIS, Demonstrated knowledge of I-9 standards, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) standards. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) or combination of education and experience that meets the minimum qualifications; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred. Considerable experience coordinating administrative duties and responsibilities in an office environment. Previous experience accurately keying large volumes of data into human resources based applications. Skilled in providing excellent customer service to employees. Skilled in the use of computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing. Must be able to handle multiple competing task, with minimum supervision, and take initiative on matters of revolving urgency.
