Responsibilities
Benefits Administration and Support
Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations with accuracy and timelinessServe as a knowledgeable resource for employees on benefits questions and issues, providing clear and helpful guidanceCollaborate with benefits vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and improve processesEmployee Engagement and Communication
Prepare and distribute benefits materials, including open enrollment communications and informational resourcesSupport benefits orientation and education sessions for new hires and current employeesMaintain up-to-date benefits documentation and employee recordsData Management and Compliance
Ensure accurate benefits data entry and maintenance in HR systemsAssist with benefits reporting and audits to meet regulatory and organizational requirementsSupport compliance with federal, state, and local benefits regulationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferredExperience with benefits administration or human resources, ideally in a supportive roleStrong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accuratelyExcellent communication skills, comfortable answering questions and explaining benefits clearlyAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentialityFamiliarity with HR information systems or benefits platforms is a plusAbility to sit for extended periods and perform routine computer work; occasional light lifting may be requiredAdditional InformationOur people are what make us Uncommon. Compensation
The full compensation range for this role is $25.34–$29.81 per hour. Typically, new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $25.34. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications, bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed.
Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally, because we value internal growth and tenure, current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.
Work Environment
This position is based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring three days per week in the office.
