HR Business Partner – Employee Relations & Investigations
**Summary:** Under general supervision from the Human Resources Manager, the HRPB provides on-site human resources and employee relations support for the deployed employees and Program Management team in Antarctica for Amentum’s Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). The HRBP will provide proactive direction and guidance to managers/employees on performance management (coaching, career development, counseling, and/or disciplinary actions), communications and training, employee relations issues, and the interpretation of employment laws and company policies and procedures. Conducts employee relations investigations, provides general and targeted training to staff, and maintains records and data reporting in support of effective business operations. The incumbent is expected maintain strict confidentiality and will frequently work with Program Management, Corporate HR, and Corporate Legal to resolve issues in a fair and consistent manner. **Position Responsibilities:** + Provides human resources support to all Amentum ASC employees, both OCONUS and CONUS. + Conducts employee relations investigations, facilitates employee disciplinary process in conjunction with managers as needed in accordance with company policies, provides general and targeted training to staff, and maintains records and data reporting. + Provides guidance to supervisors and management on employee performance and conduct and works with supervisors and managers to research and resolve personnel issues. + Responsible for managing entire contract employee performance evaluation cycle on station and ensuring they are completed fairly and in a timely manner prior to staff redeployment. + Evaluates, revises, or develops training presentations relative to staff needs and/or as directed. + Participates in redeployment meetings and provides COBRA information to employees upon redeployment, updating appropriate information as needed. + Processes medical movements, terminations, resignations, and ensures redeployment paperwork is completed, and that all stakeholders are notified in a timely fashion. + Represents the HR Department at Leadership meetings as required, providing valid reporting points for other staff and the community. + Performs other duties and projects as required. **Required Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:** + Completion of BS/BA Degree. 8+ years of progressive and relevant HR experience may be considered in lieu of degree. + A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Human Resources, with at least 3 of those years working in an Employee Relations or Investigator type role. + 3+ years of experience working with internal and external legal counsel. + The ability to obtain and maintain a federal background clearance. + Successful experience in the identification and implementation of actions that have enhanced employee engagement and decreased turnover. + Knowledge of HR Laws and experience working with various HR functions and applications such as recruiting, talent management, compensation practices, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and federal and state employment laws. + Must be highly proficient with all MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as having 5+ years of HRIS utilization experience. **Preferred:** + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. + SHRM or HRCI Professional Certification. + Supervisory or Management experience. + Experience supporting SCA / Government contract work or global project support experience. + Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and/or Workday HRIS systems. **Physical and/or Other Requirements** : + Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods, typically 5 to 6 months for the Summer Season (October – February), or the Winter Season (March – October), with potential for periodic Winfly support (August – October). + Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations as required by the National Science Foundation (NSF) for deployment to Antarctica. + Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by Amentum. + Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF. + Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position. + Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position. + Must participate in community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts, and support safety objectives. + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
